Measuring your head
You will need a tape measure and a mirror. Optional: Skip the mirror and use a friend. Place the tape measure around your head where the hat’s inner band will sit. Let the ends meet on your forehead. Make sure the tape measure is not too tight. Read the circumference from the tape measure.
Remember different hats sit differently on your head. You may even prefer to tilt your hat in a certain way. Measure so that your tape measure sits where the hat’s inner band will sit. Hats usually sit most comfortably about 1 cm above the ears.
If your head circumference is in the lower end of a size interval, a pair of hat sizers will ensure a snug fit.
Tips
- If you have no tape measure, you can use a piece of string and a ruler.
- If you have a hat that fits you well, you can measure the inner band of the hat, where the dome and the cylinder meet.

For summer, I think the cotton will work better than linen. It is still light in weight and somewhat breathable but holds its shape. The newsboy styling has a little more attitude than a minimal flat cap. With a little hand stretching it is a great fit. Price was fair compared to a retail custom shop. I am pleased.

The product itself was satisfactory to me but the size 59 was not the same as the size of the moda hat I had purchased last year, which fit me. So the size inconsistency is the issue to be resolved.

I ordered one in black and one in green in the 59 cm size. My hat size is 7 3/8- 7 1/2” and they fit perfectly. The cotton cap is sturdy but more comfortable and lighter weight than comparable caps in tweed or wool. I’m very happy with these.
This is a high-quality cap. It is a little big for a 7 3/8 (59). over all very good product.
