  2. Bring the wide end behind the narrow end to the left.
  3. Fold the wide end up towards the neck loop.
  4. Take the wide end through the neck loop and down to the right.
  5. Fold the wide end up.
  6. Take the wide end through the neck loop and down to the left.
  7. Cross the wide end over the narrow end to the right. Use a finger to hold under the band.
  8. Bring the wide end under the neck loop from behind and down the center.
  9. Pull the wide end through the band made in Step 7.
  10. Tighten by holding the knot and pulling on the narrow end. Adjust the edges for symmetry.

About the Plattsburgh Knot

The Plattsburgh Knot is named after the city Plattsburgh, in New York. This tying method is a bit shorter than the oh-so-long Balthus Knot.

For best results, use a long, thin necktie and start with the wide end much lower than the narrow one.
