This men’s earring features a surgical-grade stainless steel padlock suspended from a classic flat-edged hoop. The black coating is scratch and tarnish resistant, and gives this piece that extra hardcore edge.

PVD coating is more environmentally friendly than the vast majority of other surface treatments as it involves no liquid spillage of toxic chemicals. It involves superheating titanium nitride to its plasma state and binding it to the metal’s surface at the molecular level. Pretty rad, right?
